Snoezelen Multi-sensory Environments are relaxing spaces that help that reduce agitation and anxiety, but they can also engage and delight the user, stimulate reactions and encourage communication.

Four components of the purpose of a snoezelen room:

       1. Relaxation - can be used to calm and reduce agitation through low lights, soothing sounds, relaxing smells and textiles.

       2. Stimulation - can stimulate users by providing exciting visuals, bright lights, music, sounds and textures to explore.

       3. Development - can be used as a development and learning tool. Can be used for color matching and cause and effect.

       4. Therapy - a multi-sensory environment that have solutions to help.
